Matthew Edwards, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Edwards is a board-certified general and forensic psychiatrist and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his medical training and chief residency at Stanford University Medical Center and completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. His clinical interests are in community, forensic, and academic psychiatry, and his research interests lie at the intersection of medical history, bioethics, and public policy.

Matthew Edwards graduated with a bachelors degree in sociology, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and received a graduate certificate in public health at the University of Texas School of Public Health. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine, summa cum laude, with honors in research.

A doctor, historian, and writer, Matthew is the recipient of numerous fellowships, grants, and awards. His work has been published in many internationally peer-reviewed journals and other media.
